SUMMARY:
The Metadata Manager ensures accurate and comprehensive metadata for shows across linear, non-linear, AVOD, and FAST platforms for TV One and CleoTV. While collaborating closely with internal and external partners, the Metadata Manager is responsible for gathering and entering show synopses, IMDB show information, TV ratings, genres, and categories for data input Additionally, they will work closely with various teams including creative services, legal, content distribution, and engineering to ensure the correct and timely delivery of assets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enter show synopses, production information, genres, and other required and relevant metadata into the program and media management systems and update as needed.
- Manage the onboarding and delivery of all assets for AVOD and FAST channel platforms for TV One and CleoTV.
- Input and maintain air schedules for FAST channel platform(s).
- Work with external point of contacts to assist with the onboarding of new AVOD and FAST channel platforms for TV One and CleoTV, including modification of MRSS feeds and new metadata and artwork submissions.
- Collaborate with EIC’s and production companies to gather metadata and ensure its accuracy and completeness.
- Work closely with the engineering team to ensure correct specifications of audio, video, and closed captioning files.
- Create and run reports to track the progress and delivery of assets to their respective platforms.
- Work closely with the graphic designers and Creative Services team to ensure artwork and promos adhere to specifications outlined by each delivery platform.
- Liaise with the Legal team to ensure compliance with copyright and licensing agreements for designated programming.
- Work with the Content Distribution team to facilitate the delivery of assets to various platforms.
- Report and troubleshoot system anomalies, missing assets, and quality control (QC) failures to the appropriate internal teams.
- Take on additional duties and responsibilities as necessary.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of file and tape formats
- Working knowledge of standards conversions and international delivery formats
- Working knowledge of SIMS program media system preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Ability to interface effectively with a variety of people including staff and vendors to establish productive, ongoing relationships.
- Familiarity with metadata management systems and content distribution platforms.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment.
- Possess excellent project management, organizational, administrative and time management skills.
- Effectively manage and prioritize numerous projects with tight deadlines with little or no supervision.
- Complies with Network and Urban One’s mandatory trainings and adheres to related course deadlines.
- Legally authorized to work in the US.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field preferred. Ten (10) or more years of experience in Broadcast Communications, Broadcast Operations, or a related field.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary Range:Â $90,000 – $95,000/year
Overtime Eligibility: This is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime pay following applicable laws.
