LaToya Cantrell Becomes New Orleans’ First Female Mayor

A new era in New Orleans started this week as the 300-year-old city welcomed its first female mayor, LaToya Cantrell.
Cantrell, who ran on the platform of making New Orleans safe and equitable, is a Xavier University and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government graduate. She is married to Jason Cantrell and has one daughter, RayAnn. The couple reportedly lives in Broadmoor.
She officially began her first day this week, toting the historic city as a #CityofYes.
